With 2018 coming to an end, I can only be excited about all the amazing things coming up in my family's life! Our 2nd baby is on the way and will be here before we know it. It has been a busy jam-packed year not only for our family but for my business too. My little announcement is that I will be taking a break in 2019 to focus on my family and all the new ways of life that we will be getting used to with being a family of 4. My main goals are to not only be fully present with my family to give them my full concentration and love that they deserve; but to allow myself time to renew and recharge for my creative business.

I plan to hit the ground running and come back fully in 2020 — currently booking!

I get asked this a lot, all year round, so I thought I would throw together a list of my favorite shooting locations in the Twin Cities area. The beauty of a great spot is to have multiple options all in the same location. Timing is key with lighting, so when we choose a spot, I want to be able to have many options without taking the time to drive to a seperate place. Although I love to switch it up and try new locations frequently, it’s helpful to have a go-to suggestion list for my clients. Rain or shine, heat or freezing cold, I have spots that will work in any condition. For my favorite look, I aim for comfortable weather right at golden hour, but sometimes, timing and scheduling just don’t allow you to shoot during your favorite conditions. Hence the list.

1. Loring Park/ Walker

2. Butler Wildflower Garden (By Theodore Wirth Park)

3. Lake Harriet Marina/Rose Garden

4. North Loop

5. Downtown St Paul — Mears Park, Micky’s Diner, Landmark Center, Rice Park, Etc.

6. Como Park/Conservatory

7. Harriet Island

8. Centennial Lakes

9. Arboretum

10. Mill Ruins Park/Guthrie/Stone Arch Bridge

…or, any wild grass open field with character — seriously, you don’t need to go far to get great shots.

I do a limited amount of mini sessions in the Spring, Summer and Fall. They are so fun and one of my most popular sessions for families. I usually start booking the Fall session in the Summer and try to pick the projected peek Fall color dates. Let me know if you are interested next year. We had a blast. Here are the previews from my 2018 Fall mini session yesterday, we lucked out and got beautiful weather and colors! It’s neat how different each session is, because of the uniqueness of each family, and the lighting changes dramatically from 8am to 10am, it makes each session fun and different.

Mini Family Session: $175

30 minute session at 1 outdoor location. This session aims to get a great family shot and individuals of each kid plus a few different poses. This is a fast paced session and I plan it out to make the most of the short time window. You will receive about 30-40 final images. All digitals are included. Must be booked on a day that I have other mini sessions and we will coordinate all shoots at a location chosen by me!

Book early to get the prime lighting time slots!
